MISSING YOU
Red George is a non profit making, self funded project. It was established in memory of two very special brothers, George and Jon Scott, sons of Stephen Scott the project director.
George Scott
George Scott was a lovely little lad, full of energy and fun. He loved the outdoors: quad biking in the countryside was one of his favourite activities he also liked all animals and swimming in the rivers. He went everywhere with his elder brother Jon - they were best friends.
Tragedy struck when George was only 10 yrs old. One evening he became ill with flu like symptoms and took to his bed to rest. Sadly George and Jon were never to play together again..... George had contracted the fatal virus mennigitis. Every parents worst nightmare. Despite attempts to save his life George passed away on 18th February 2003
Jon Scott
Jon was very lonely after the death of his soul mate George. He missed a lot of education and found it hard to catch up again, the decision was made to educate Jon at home. As well as studying at home, he attended the Drive project in Telford and gained certificates in motor mechanics, the Parish rooms in Market Drayton gaining literacy and numeracy qualifications and he also attended Reaseheath college where he gained a building qualification. He always had a wonderful golden smile, but behind it you could see the pain in his eyes.........
Jon decided he would like to help us to set up a project in memory of George and he helped us build the Red George Rural skills project. He wanted the project to help young people who were finding it hard at school, for whatever reason, just as he had.
Unfortunately tragedy was to strike again. Three years on from Georges death, Jon was walking home on the evening of 22nd May 2006 with his other brother Jay and a group of friends. He was to become the victim of a hit and run driver that night. A speeding car came out of the local pub on the wrong side of the road and ploughed into them, he never even braked. Jon sustained fatal injuries, loosing his young and precious life, he was only 17 yrs old.
Jon was never here to see the Red George project up and running, but I am sure he is smiling down on us from heaven for what has been achieved.
In Loving memory of two very special brothers. Rest in peace George and Jon
